Waxing is a form of hair removal that removes the root of the hair from the follicle of the skin. This allows you to enjoy smoother skin for a prolonged period of time. Say goodbye to razor burn, itchiness, and quick regrowth. Waxing leaves behind smooth, exfoliated, glowing skin, and with consistant wax schedule, it can help you to achieve finer, thinner hair.
It is different for everyone. Usually, you can expect to have smooth skin between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 weeks, however it does depend on how quick your body produces hair, and how often you are getting waxed. If you have been shaving before you first wax appointment, there may be a transitional period, in which it will take a couple waxes to achieve the longest lasting results. When the hair does start to grow back in, do not expect itchy, sharp hairs like you would from a razor. The hair will come in fine and more sparse. You should be ready to wax in another 4-6 weeks.
The hair should be about 1/4 of an inch long, and any length past that is absolutely okay! If you are a consistent waxer, every 4-6 weeks should produce the appropriate length. However, if you shave, it could be as soon as 1 1/2 weeks. I know, it may be hard for some of you to grow your hair out for that long, but it is worth it. Your body does grow hair! Let's not deny it!
Absolutley! You will be a tad more sensitive, but it is nothing a powerful pregnant woman can't handle!
Yes! All the time! The most popular services for men are the back, chest, abdomen, brows, nose and ears! I do not provide the male brazilian service, simply because it is not in my back round of experience.
Sugaring uses a concoction of sugar, lemon, and water to create a sugar paste. This paste is used to remove the hair from the skin. The paste is room temperature, unlike traditional wax, which allows it to be much more gentle on the skin. It is a great alternative for someone who is extra sensitive and has added irritation from normal wax. It is a technique that has been available for hair removal throughout history. Most services can be performed using sugar, let me know at the time of your appointment if you would like to try this technique!
A lash lift is an advancement on the old fashioned “lash perm”. Unlike the perming rods used in the past, new specially created silicone pads lift the lashes from the root only, creating a subtle, natural looking lift, giving the illusion of length, and making the eyes appear more open. It is an amazing alternative to lash extensions, and paired with a lash tint, you will amazed! Lasts 6-8 weeks!
A vegetable dye is used to temporarily dye the eyelashes and brows to the color of your choice. Allow lashes to look naturally black, and bolden brows with this great service! Colors offered are medium brown, brown, graphite, black. Lasts 2-4 weeks!
Before a waxing appointment, please avoid tanning for at least 48 hours. Also avoid using any topical or oral prescriptions for your skin for at least a week. These things can cause the skin to lift, which can cause mild scabbing and sensitivity. We do not want that!! Caffeine, or foods with a high acidity level can make you more sensitive, but it is not required that you avoid these. Taking an Ibprofen 30 minutes before your appointment can help ease the discomfort.
After a waxing appointment, I also do not recommend that you tan for 48 hours. Avoid exercise, saunas, or anything that will produce heat, or sweat to the area, until the skin has calmed down. We want to avoid any sort of reaction at all costs! To prevent ingrown hairs, you must consistantly exfoliate your skin! I'll educate you more on what that means at the time of your appointment!
These are some of the most frequently asked questions, however if there is anything you are wondering beyond this, please feel free to email or call me with your questions! I want you to feel as comfortable as possible!
